City of Alexandria – Ship timber storage facility lecture, tour, and training, December 1, 2018

On December 1, 2018, members of the chapter attended lectures on the archaeology of the waterfront in Alexandria; the four ships found during recent excavations; and, the view ahead for these ships and the ongoing conservation efforts.  These lectures were followed by a tour of the ship timber facility.

Finally, the MHC chapter held a training session on Ship Timber Recording.

We would like to thank Eleanor Breen (Alexandria City Archaeologist), John Mullen and Ben Skolnik for their very interesting presentations on these subjects during this event.

  1. Thank you John for arranging this exceptional event. As the newest member, I am guessing, I had a fabulous day. Laura Anderson
